Tokyo hosts an enormous variety of celebrity events including music concerts, film premieres, fashion shows, anime conventions, idol group performances, brand collaborations, art exhibitions, awards ceremonies, and broadcast events. The city is one of the world's busiest entertainment capitals with thousands of events annually.

Major film premieres in Tokyo are typically held at Roppongi Hills Arena, TOHO Cinemas Roppongi, Shibuya Hikarie, and the Tokyo International Forum. The Tokyo International Film Festival is held annually in the Hibiya and Yurakucho areas. Red carpet events often take place at hotel ballrooms and dedicated event spaces in Minato and Shibuya wards.

Tokyo Fashion Week (officially Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo) is held twice a year — typically in March for Autumn/Winter collections and in October for Spring/Summer collections. Shows take place at various venues across Tokyo, with Shibuya Hikarie serving as a primary hub. Additional fashion events and pop-ups occur throughout the year in Harajuku, Omotesando, and Ginza.
